Indiana Agent Service Without the $249
Honest registered agent representation in Indiana for $99/year. Includes the address used on filings, same-day scanning of legal mail, and reminders for state deadlines.
Ground rules before the comparison starts. This is a page published by IN Registered Agent.org, we sell Indiana registered agent service, and we make $99 a year whenever somebody finds the argument persuasive. Nothing below asks you to trust us about LegalZoom. It asks you to compare two published numbers.
Familiarity Is Part of What You Are Buying
LegalZoom is the one company in this category that a banker, an accountant, and a skeptical relative have all heard of already. That matters more than price-focused pages usually admit. Nobody questions whether the provider is real, nobody wants a second opinion, and buying the option that needs no explanation genuinely removes a small worry from a founder's week. The pricing is also clean by the standards of this market: a single posted figure with no expiring introductory rate hiding beneath it.
Where the $150 Goes
The figure is $249 a year, it auto-renews, and our July 2026 check turned up no first-year discount anywhere. Against our $99 the gap is $150 in the opening year and $150 in every year after, which over a decade of running an Indiana LLC is $2,490 on one side of the ledger and $990 on the other.
What that premium is not buying is a stronger legal position. Indiana defines the role in one chapter of its code and applies the definition to everybody in it. The agent has to keep a physical Indiana street address, be reachable there during ordinary business hours, and take delivery of service of process and state correspondence. A $249 address and a $90 address discharge the obligation identically, because the statute grades presence rather than providers.

The Cheaper Column, With Its Limits Stated
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereOur side is short enough to print in full. The rate is $99 and the renewal is $99. Court papers delivered to us are scanned and sent to your inbox the day they arrive. There is one thing on sale at checkout and no menu of extras. Your home address stays out of Indiana's searchable business records because ours goes in that field instead. Reminders reach you ahead of a deadline the state only raises every other year.
One boast we are not making: cheapest in Indiana. BetterLegal publishes $90 annually, and that is the lowest sticker we found in July 2026. Ours is among the lowest flat rates in the market, which is a smaller claim and a true one.
Switching From LegalZoom in Indiana Means Naming Somebody Else
Here is the local rule that shapes the exit. Indiana keeps its registered agent law in chapter 23-0.5-4 of the code, part of the Uniform Business Organizations Code adopted for entity mechanics, and that chapter recognizes two kinds of agent, commercial and noncommercial, with individuals and companies both eligible. The one thing it refuses is a company appointing itself. The state's official guidance puts it in a single sentence: a business cannot serve as its own registered agent.
So "cancel LegalZoom" is never a complete plan in this state. There is no do-it-yourself fallback where you drop the vendor and quietly write your own company into the slot. Somebody else has to take the seat, and Indiana wants that person or firm named on the paperwork.
The paperwork is State Form 56367, Indiana's change of agent filing, which the Business Services Division at the Secretary of State's office accepts online through INBiz or on paper, and the state's fee for it is nothing at all. Appoint your replacement first, file second, confirm on your entity record third, and cancel with LegalZoom last, ahead of the renewal date, since that charge goes through under its own momentum regardless of what the state's file now says. Handled in that order the agent line is occupied throughout and no gap ever opens. Our Indiana change of agent walkthrough covers the fields and the confirmation step.
